The St. Katharine
The Story of the St. Katharine - from RMAS Denmead A363 to St. Katharine B&B Boat in Barcelona.
In 1969 RMAS Denmead A363 was build in Kingston upon Hull to service for the Royal Navy as a Fleet Tender. During the following years she transported crew and goods from the harbors to the fleet on sea and visa versa.
In 1994 the Denmead was made redundant and decommissioned together with other Fleet Tenders. She was sold to Hunter Marine Services in Ireland, renamed Kilquade and deployed as a working ship (tender, transportation and inspection vessel) on the Irish Sea with Dublin as home port and moored in Wicklow.
During this time she was used twice in a movie/BBC serie, one with Pierce Brosnan and his movie The Nephew (a copy of this film is on board to watch).
In 2006 we bought her and sailed her from Wicklow to Stellendam in a 72 hrs non-stop journey. Shortly after we started a complete refit which took the 2 years following. Last year (2012) we brought her to Barcelona and since a couple of months guests can rent a cabin and experience this beautiful B&B Hotel Boat!
